Don't even pick up a single pebble?
Galapagos Islands of Ecuador are well known as the place where Darwin wrote "On the Origin of Species." These islands preserve unique natural features and attract many tourists every year.
However, with the influx of tourists, serious problems have also arisen.
A few decades ago, dogs brought by humans almost destroyed the island's ecosystem.
As a result, the island is now being strictly protected. Visitors are not allowed to go alone without a guide within the national park area, and they are not allowed to stray even a single step from designated paths or touch animals with their hands.
That's not all. On this island, you can't even pick up a small pebble on the roadside. This is because a seed of a plant that might be next to the pebble could be carried away by human hands.
Furthermore, when entering or leaving the island, you must always remove any soil that may be on your shoes. This is because plant seeds should not be attached to soil on your shoes.
Thus, in the Galapagos Islands of Ecuador, nothing can be taken in or out.
